Dear Fellowship Church Family Member,
There are lots of words that describe or define our role as givers in the church. Consider these three:
Opportunity: “This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” II Cor. 9:12
Responsibility: “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48
Calling: “But just as you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us-see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” 2 Corinthians 8:7
Following our lower-than-anticipated giving in February of this year, we have been asking each of you to examine your own heart and lifestyle. We have challenged you to consider the depth to which you are fulfilling your opportunity to supply others, your responsibility to give according to what has been entrusted, and your calling to excel in the grace of giving.
As God’s people charged with the commitment to build this body, you responded. Last week your generosity enabled us to meet our budget for the week and add an additional $17,300 toward replenishing our reservoir in preparation for a summer and fall of extravagant generosity through the ministries of Fellowship Church. Please continue to do your part in faithfully supplying the needs of God’s people. Let’s completely refill our reservoir so that we can “rain” God’s grace and truth lavishly on those whom we serve.
On the journey,
Rick Dunn
