Our team in Leipzig, Germany

Please pray this week for the young adults from Fellowship Church in Knoxvile and the FeG (German Free Church) in Leipzig. Ask for clarity in questions and responses, wisdom to understand the data we collect, and compassion for people who express different life views.
This week we have a German/American team working together to study young adults in Leipzig. The research is designed to get into the minds of non-Christians by using ‘thick, rich conversations’ on a variety of specific topics. The topics range from family life to work habits, from social attitudes to spiritual views, from personal hardships to greatest joys. It is a joint-study being conducted in Leipzig this week and in Knoxville, Tennessee, in September. Our hopes are to find relevant areas for the gospel to more deeply penetrate the hearts of young adults (25-35) in both cultures.
In Leipzig we are meeting in a café in the downtown pedestrian zone. People have been invited to be interviewed by Americans with German translators. We began this evening with many Germans who desired to converse in English with Americans. Sunday through Thursday, the conversations are specifically for the research. On Saturday evening, the tables with turn, and the German interviewees will be given the chance to ask the Americans whatever they wish.
