Rick Dunn, Lead Pastor

Rick is an eighteen-year veteran in the field of youth and family ministries. A native East Tennessean, he has served as a campus ministry leader, a youth and family life pastor, a retreat/conference speaker, and as a college and seminary professor in both national and international contexts. Rick most recently served Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, our denomination’s seminary, as Chair of the Department of Educational Ministries. Rick is the author of Shaping the Spiritual Life of Students: A Guide for Youth Workers, Pastors, Teachers & Campus Ministers. He is co-editor of Reaching a Generation for Christ: A Comprehensive Guide to Youth Ministry (Moody Press), a contributor to the Life Application Bible for Students (Tyndale), and has authored numerous Bible study guides, articles, and chapters for youth and family ministry leaders. Rick’s wife, Teresa, is a licensed clinical therapist. They have three children, Jessica, Zachary, and Benjamin.
Kevin Huggins, Associate Pastor (Disciple-Making Ministries)

Kevin moved to Knoxville in August of 2005 to join Fellowship’s staff. Dr.Huggins leads the Adult Discipleship Leadership Team that oversees our church’s ministries to adults. Before coming to Fellowship Kevin served in numerous pastoral positions in student, family, and counseling ministries, as a full-time chaplain for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, as a marriage and family therapist, and as both a professor of Christian Counseling and the Sr. Vice President and Provost for Academic Affairs at Philadelphia Biblical University. Kevin is married to Vicky. They have five daughters, two grandsons, and three granddaughters. Together Kevin and Vicky share a love for tennis, reading, and hiking.
Steve Luper, Church Business Administrator

Steve joined the Fellowship staff in April 2001. He is married to Carolyn with whom he shares a lifelong interest in choral music. A graduate of Bearden High School and the University of Tennessee, Steve has lived in Knoxville for almost 40 years. Before Fellowship he spent his career in the financial realm having been a Certified Public Accountant working in public and private practice and as the Chief Financial Officer for a small software company. Counted as blessings (usually), are Steve’s and Carolyn’s three children and three grandchildren. Steve is a runner and enjoys a good novel as well as occasionally acting with The Word Players.

Greg Pinkner, Teaching Pastor

Greg joined the staff of Fellowship in February of 2003. He moved to Knoxville from the Dallas area in the summer of 2001. He and Jennifer have been married since August of 2001. Greg served for five years as a youth minister at Legacy Drive Baptist in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. He was educated at the University of North Texas in Denton, a city just north of Dallas. During his college years, Greg was a member of the professional speaking circuit. He was a traveling evangelist, speaking at camps and retreats across the country. He’s been with the national camp systems of Centrifuge and, most recently, Student Life.
Jacob Winn, Worship Leader

Jacob started attending Fellowship in March of 2004 and joined the staff in February of 2005. He has been leading worship for about ten years for various youth/college groups and camps. Most recently, he has led worship for Crossroad, a city-wide collegiate worship service held here at Fellowship on Monday nights. Jacob served as Worship Pastor at Harvest View Church in Murfreesboro before moving to Knoxville in 2001. Since moving to Knoxville Jacob has worked in the secular workplace, most recently as a Sales Rep and Product Specialist for a recording software company. Jacob’s lovely wife Beth, of whom he is very proud, has completed her doctoral degree in School Psychology. Jacob and Beth have been married since August of 2001.
Missions & Outreach
John Winters, Missions & Outreach Pastor

John joined the Fellowship staff in April 2001. John has been involved with outreach the past 20 years, most recently to the homeless and drug addicted on Los Angeles, California’s skid row. He is an ordained minister through Harvest Fields Ministries since 1983. John, his wife Juanita, and son Joshua moved to Knoxville in August of 2000. They have two older children who are married: Ernie and Monica, a granddaughter named Morgan, and a brand-new grandson named Avery.
Adult Ministry
Tim Shaughnessy, Pastor of Marriage & Family Ministries

Tim began with our staff at Fellowship Church in July 1990. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield IL. Tim is our former youth pastor of eight years. He recently obtained a Master of Science in Christian Counseling from the Graduate School of Philadelphia College of Bible. One of Tim’s passions is to assist Parents of teens in helping them walk with Christ during their children’s adolescent years. Tim has received extensive training and interest in small group ministries. His wife, Barb, served as director of women’s ministry at Fellowship Church for 3 years. They have three children, Hannah, Sam and Elizabeth.
Roberta Truza, Director of Counseling & Spiritual Care Ministries

Roberta began attending Fellowship Church in 1987 and joined the staff in 1991. She brings five years of ministry experience from The Chapel in Akron, Ohio as well as over ten years worth of experience from the corporate marketplace. Roberta graduated from Roane State with an A.A.S. in Social Services, from Johnson Bible College with a B.S. in Leadership and Ministry Preparation, and has completed the Masters in Christian Counseling Program at Philadelphia Biblical University. She has two grown children, Kara and Jonathon.
Brad Hobbs, Pastor of Spiritual Formation & Small Groups

Brad entered full time vocational ministry in June of 2005 after having served Fellowship as an elder since 2001. He has degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and spent ten years with IBM in Indiana and Illinois before moving to Knoxville in the summer of 1994.He was a marketing executive for two technology startup companies before going into the architectural stained glass business in the fall of 2000. Brad is every bit the contemplative and enjoys reading and solitude whenever the opportunity presents itself. He and his wife Judy have five children ranging in ages from 3 to 24, including two adopted daughters from Vietnam.

JC and his wife, Katie, are both native Knoxvillians. JC joined the staff of Fellowship Church in December of 2005. JC graduated from Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN and received his Masters of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta. JC considers it an honor to be working at a church that so many college students call “home”, during such a pivotal time in their lives! JC and Katie are expecting their first child, Davis, in February of 2008.
Children’s Ministry
Gwyn Baker, Pastor of Children’s Ministries

Gwyn brings over 30 years of ministry experience to Fellowship’s Children’s Ministry department. In 1971, Gwyn graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS in education, and holds a current Tennessee Teachers License. Recent continuing education has included training by Dr. Larry Crabb, Caps Southeast, Youth Specialties, and First Aid. Her experience includes certified Christian Educator for the Presbyterian Church since 1976, family minister, camp program director, Christian educator, youth director, speaker and author. In addition to her role here at Fellowship Church, Gwyn is also a part of the planning team for Great Escape Junior High Camp, and a volunteer for Young Life. Gwyn is married to Clyde Baker; they have four adult children: Travis, Mindy, Ginny and Rachel. What Gwyn enjoys most about ministry is the opportunity to be used by God to come alongside youth and adults to develop their leadership and disciple making abilities.

Steve VanHorn hails from a very small state called Rhode Island, which is somewhere north of the great state of Tennessee. He moved to Knoxville, to attend JohnsonBible College where he received his B.S. in Children’s Ministry and Preschool/Day Care Directing. He married his incredible wife Cali in 2005 and together share in the joy of raising their little boy Noah. Steve has a passion for seeing children brought before Jesus and discipling them for His Kingdom! Steve has partnered and served in several children and youth ministries in New England and TN, and has been a part of Fellowship Church’s children’s ministry since the fall of 2003.
Student Ministries
Alan Ramsey, Pastor of Student Ministries (Middle School)

Alan joined the staff of Fellowship Church in May 1997. Alan leads the Student Ministries team that oversees our church’s ministries to middle school and high school students. Alan attended San Diego Christian College (formally Christian Heritage College) where he obtained a BA in Biblical Studies with emphasis in Youth Ministries. Before joining Fellowship Alan was the Assistant Middle School Pastor at Skyline Wesleyan Church in Lemon Grove, California (suburb of San Diego). He and Diane have been married since May 1997. They have three children, Madison, Abigail and Kayla Ray. Alan has worked with middle school students for 15 years and is honored to play a small part in God’s plan for middle school students.
Adam Vaughan, Pastor of High School Ministries

Adam and his wife Kelly both grew up in west Knoxville. They both attended Farragut High School and the University of Tennessee, and were married in April 1998. Adam has been involved in student ministries for ten years. Prior to joining Fellowship’s staff, he was the Student Ministries Director at Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church. Kelly and Adam have two absolutely precious and beautiful girls named Emmiline and Eloise.
